The hotel industry is a unique industry and one that requires quality foods to be provided at all times. Jamaica forms part of the signatory for international agreements relating to food safety. As such, it is integral for stakeholders to ensure compliance and implementation of such agreements. Food safety continues to be a growing issue due to the increase in the movement of people, food, and agricultural produce across borders, changes in food processing and handling practices as well as the emergence/re-emergence of diseases and pathogens. The food industry including Hotels, therefore, has a part to play in assuring food safety and quality through the application of quality assurance and risk-based food safety systems utilizing scientific knowledge. With this in mind, H1H Laboratory is able to offer its services to Hoteliers and other food processors and stakeholders so they can screen their products and raw materials to assure food safety from farm to fork.
